I’ve now come to find out that the Katalyst Talent Agency requires an up-front fee to join their agency. Based on my industry experience and according to the advice of many industry professionals, this is an extremely questionable and perhaps even unethical practice. Ask nearly any industry professional and you’ll hear the same thing: A talent agency makes money through booking their talent, and should never charge their talent upfront fees. (More information..)

So, while I’m not labeling Katalyst a scam agency, I do believe it is extremely important to maintain personal and professional standards. Thus, I’ve regrettably had to inform Katalyst that I’m declining their offer of representation because of what I believe to be a questionable practice.

Sorry, folks, I’m WAY behind on my blogging. Quick updates:

1) Been doing more TV commercials and radio spots! Woot!

2) I’ve signed with the Katalyst agency in Cincinnati.

3) I’ve signed on to star in as well as help produce a short film for Pangea Day called “First They Came For…”. Kate Chaplin is the primary producer and will be directing. It’s very exciting to be a part of this film as it will convey a very important message.

Much, much more is going on as well, but I’ll leave that for another time.

According to a report delivered to Slashdot, Verizon Wireless is planning to share its customers’ calling records (called CPNI) with “our affiliates, agents and parent companies (including Vodafone) and their subsidiaries.” This information “includes the numbers of incoming and outgoing calls and time spent on each call, among other data.”

“Dependence” has been honored as one of seven films to be chosen for screening at the Harvest Moon Festival. It’s a really nice film that I am proud to be a part of, so here’s hoping for an award there as well!
