Lots of work
Tuesday was a busy day!
First, I had a commercial shoot where I had the honor to play Chris Hanson (whom I bear a slight resemblance to) in a role based on his popular Dateline NBC segment “To Catch a Predator”. Instead of taking on pedophiles, however, I was chastising incompetent tax preparers. Very funny stuff! It was a lot of fun and I’d worked with the other actors before - so it was a nice little reunion as well.
Straight from there, I ran to make a sales meeting at my day job. That lasted longer than I thought, so while I thought I’d be having dinner that evening, instead I was trying to make up time to my next gig.
My final job Tuesday was to tape 6 scripts as a spokesperson for various clients at wowivideo. Thankfully, these didn’t have to be memorized and I’m quite good at reading from a Teleprompter, so we had that shoot done in a couple hours.
Sure, it was a 16-hour day, but it was a productive one - so that’s nice.
Oh yeah… Tonight I’m performing at ComedySportz! Come see me!

A journey of 1,000 miles…
A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step. - Lao-tzu
Recently I’ve taken the first step on such a journey: I have sent out marketing packages including headshots, resume, and demo reel to selected agencies in the Los Angeles area to hopefully gain some attention and obtain some meetings regarding representation while I’m making my first trip out to LA.
Of course, it’s hard to say what the reception might be. I understand that unsolicited mail only generally yields about a 3% hit rate and the west coast agencies are very busy, so I’m keeping my expectations in line with that. This is only the first step, though, of what will no doubt be a constant marketing campaign vying for the attention of agencies, casting directors, producers… and ultimately the viewing public.
I’m very excited to be taking this very important step on what is truly a journey of a lifetime.

Star Trek vs. Batman still running
I had no idea of how far and wide my version of Adam West’s Batman had been seen, until I saw a recent article in The Madison Courier that pointed out:
The film was voted “Best Film Award” by the RadCon Film Festival in February, and most recently, the “Most Humorous” award by the Shore Leave Festival held in Baltimore in July.
To date, the film has been viewed more than 800,000 times worldwide on Allen’s Web site, racsofilms.com.
“Star Trek vs. Batman” has previously screened at Chicago Tardis, a film festival held in Chicago every Thanksgiving; the Indianapolis International Film Festival; RadCon Film Festival in Seattle; on Fairfield’s public access television station in Iowa and in Baltimore at the Shore Leave convention.
Wow.
